Here are some scenery photos I took during the summer while cruising down the Chicago river through downtown.

I posted hundreds of photos last year from my trip to Paris. Today I went looking through my archives and noticed several photos that I passed over the first time as unremarkable. Well, they’re still not great, but now I consider them remarkable because, duh, they’re of PARIS! Everything I aimed my camera at was lovely.

Winter’s not so bad…

I’m totally missing summer!!
Cook-outs: one of life’s little pleasures.

I maintain a pro Flickr account mainly as a backup to store and archive my photos. I’m not active in the community, but it’s interesting to see when other users “favorite” one of my photos. As a sort of “year in review” post, below are 12 of my photos with the most favorites on Flickr - a surprising group.
#1 - 153 favorites - My Rivendell in the woods

#2 - 123 favorites - Snowy bridge in Geneva, IL

#3 - 55 favorites - Open wide for macarons

#4 - 46 favorites - Pantheon in Paris

#5 - 41 favorites - Paris Park

#6 - 41 favorites - Pantheon clock in Paris

#7 - 41 favorites - Pierre Herme macarons

#8 - 33 favorites - NYC

#9 - 29 favorites - Bicycle polaroid in France

#10 - 28 favorites - Notre Dame

#11 - 24 favorites - Family farm under snow

#12 - 24 favorites - View of Paris from Pompidou

Clearly, Flickr users like pictures of Paris. :) Almost all of these were taken with my Nikon FM2, one with a borrowed Olympus OM-1 and one with my Polaroid SX-70. Most of the film is Kodak Ektar 100, some Fuji Superia 400.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year. May it be filled with cameras and film.
