Chicago from the River
Here are some scenery photos I took during the summer while cruising down the Chicago river through downtown.

Oh, my goodness! I never realized this video existed! It was in a zip drive of digital photos that my traveling companion Trisha sent me and somehow I only noticed it today, over a year later.
Basically, my friend Trisha was recording me taking a Polaroid in the Tuilerie Gardens in Paris, but my goofy SX-70 malfunctioned. Don’t you hate it when that happens? Anti-climatic. :)

Random Paris
I posted hundreds of photos last year from my trip to Paris. Today I went looking through my archives and noticed several photos that I passed over the first time as unremarkable. Well, they’re still not great, but now I consider them remarkable because, duh, they’re of PARIS! Everything I aimed my camera at was lovely.

My Photos: Top 12 Favorites on Flickr
I maintain a pro Flickr account mainly as a backup to store and archive my photos. I’m not active in the community, but it’s interesting to see when other users “favorite” one of my photos. As a sort of “year in review” post, below are 12 of my photos with the most favorites on Flickr - a surprising group.
#1 - 153 favorites - My Rivendell in the woods

Instant Fun with Fuji FP 3000B
New project for me: shooting instant photos with my Mamiya 645 Pro fitted with a Polaroid back and Fuji FP-3000B, a high speed black and white instant film.
Playing with this stuff is super fun! Having full control over the shutter speed, aperture and focus of my camera is much more satisfying than snapping away on my Polaroid SX-70 or Fuji Instax. Plus, I love that I get instant results with...

Rocky Mountain National Park on Lomo
Yesterday I returned from a week’s vacation in Denver, Colorado. My absolute favorite part of the vacation was hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park. So fresh and beautiful. Here are the shots from my Diana F+ (the Tori Amos special edition).
There would be more of them, but I forgot to remove the damn lens cap for the first several shots - a problem with non-SLR cameras...
carmenanicia asked: First, I love you blog! As a photography major, it keeps on inspiring me. I have a quick question.. how do you develop at home? I was thinking of developing my own. I know it's in the bathroom but some chemicals are really not supposed to be put down the sink, like fixer (I think). Do you just recycle the ones that you cannot pour down? Also, where do you get your other film developed that...

Chicago Garden Wedding on Film
As I mentioned before, I had the honor of photographing a gorgeous garden wedding last month. The couple is beautiful, friendly, and fun - a perfect combination for a photographer to work with. Here are photos of the preparations and ceremony.
Cameras: Rollei TLR, Mamiya 645, Nikon F100
Films: Fuji 400H...

Rolleiflex TLR for Wedding Photography
My 1950’s Rolleiflex TLR is slow to load, crank, and focus, and has only 12 shots per roll of film. Nevertheless, I love shooting with it, even at weddings. Many of my favorite photos come from my Rollei, such as these from the last wedding I photographed, where I put only two rolls of Tmax through my Rollei.
The Zeiss glass is so nice. These shots make me...
